Annette Kay

Devoted family lady and member of Gt Harwood Christian Fellowship

Peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family on 19th April 2018, Annette aged 63 years of Rishton.  The devoted and much loved wife of Colin, loving mum of Deborah and dear mother-in-law of Paul, treasured daughter of Sam and the late Joan, and cherished grandma of Philippa and Rebekah. Annette also leaves many true and loyal friends.

Annette was born in Wellington St, Clayton-le-Moors and then moved to Great Harwood, where she also started her married life after meeting her beloved husband to be at the Post Office Dance in Blackpool at the age of 16.  She worked for BT Accounts and made many good friends there.  Following the birth of her daughter Deborah, she worked part-time at Haworth Chemist in Gt Harwood and later at the Cabin Surgery in Rishton.  Annette was a former member of St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Rishton and was a member of Gt Harwood Christian Fellowship for the last 12 years.  When she was younger, Annette enjoyed walking and the oudoors, in particular the Lake District where she often went birdwatching.  In her spare time she was an avid reader and spent many hours reading in her favourite chair. She also enjoyed doing jigsaws and cross-stitching and baking her legendary parkin. Annette loved to grow both flowers and vegetables in her garden and once won a prize for vegetable growing in a Gt Harwood competition.
