Anne Bradshaw

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family on 2nd May 2024, Anne aged 89 years formerly of Beardwood, Blackburn. The devoted wife of the late Jeffrey, loving mum of David, Nicola and the late Louise, dear-mother-in-law of Jenny and Craig, a cherished Nana and Great Nana and also a dear relative and respected friend to many.

Former company director at the family business Cupal Limited, Blackburn, Anne was a well-known face in the community. She built up a network of friends over the years from all walks of life and she always ensured she kept in contact with each of them. She gave her time freely to others and was a former JP serving at Blackburn Magistrates Court, a regular on the local committee for the NSPCC and a volunteer for The Samaritan’s for many years. She was a keen traveller and has enjoyed many worldwide adventures and cruises visiting many continents and countries, always making great friendships along the way. She also spent many happy times at the family holiday home in Los Gigantes, Tenerife where she and Jeff enjoyed many a social event and many long lasting friendships. She was a keen bridge player, playing regularly with her Bridge Four and more recently online with her brother-in-law in South Africa. Unlike a lot of 89 year olds, she embraced technology so she could keep in contact with her worldwide friends. Rugby also held a special place in Anne’s heart, she was a regular face at Blackburn Rugby Club and each year she would look forward to the Internationals at Twickenham. She was also a former member of Royal Windermere Yacht Club and remains in contact with many friends there to this day.

Aside from her friendships, most of all Anne was a doting family lady who adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she always looked forward to catching up with her family and was immensely proud of each of their achievements.
