Andrew Gibson (Andy)

On the 1st January 2022, Andy of Great Harwood, aged 55, passed unexpectedly at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Husband to Joanne, Dad to Matthew and Hannah, brother to Terry, the late Sylvia, Brian and Russell, loving uncle to many and a dear friend.
Andy spent his working life as a commercial vehicle mechanic. He had a passion for wagons, tractors, fast and classic cars.
Andy was a very hand’s on person, fixing and making things – often at his happiest with his hands dirty and wearing overalls. He loved going on holiday, especially to Scotland and visiting his family in Wales.
He also loved his caravan at Marsh House Farm and loved the great outdoors – farming was a big part of his life.
Andy was the life and soul of any party, his laugh was infectious, especially after telling a good joke. He would talk to anybody. Andy will be missed by all who knew him.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received on behalf of the North West Air Ambulance via the donate button below.

Dear Joanne and family. I have only just found out from another old work colleague from Hydrair who has just told me of this very very sad news. I knew Andy for many years when he worked with me and my ex husband Adrian at Hydrair. He was such a great, noisy guy who you could hear a mile away with his bellowing laugh and ever large presence. The last time I saw Andy was at Granville’s funeral (another colleague from hydrair) and it was so nice to see him and I will always remember him dearly. My deepest condolences to you and your children. I’m sure he will live on in your children’s lives. Thinking of you all xxx
