Memorial Book
Suddenly in hospital on 19th October 2025, Alan aged 91 years of Clitheroe. The devoted husband of the late Mary, loving dad of Penny, John and Peter, cherished grandad of Dominic, Sarah, Kyle and Harry, great-grandad of Wilf and Billy, dear brother of John and a respected relative and good friend to many.
Proud Yorkshireman, Alan was born in Leeds before moving to Clitheroe, later spending time in St Anne’s before returning once again to Clitheroe. Throughout his working life, Alan held a variety of roles, from banking and insurance to his final position as an administrator for the YMCA, before enjoying a well earned retirement. A devoted supporter and proud Steward of Clitheroe FC, Alan loved nothing more than attending matches, both home and away. Always willing to lend a hand, he could often be found helping in the catering department, and at half-time he would be ready with refreshments for the players. In his younger years, Alan was a keen traveller and enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years. He loved to keep active and was rarely still, always busy and involved in his community. A dedicated member of Trinity Methodist Church and the Clitheroe and District Probus Club, Alan was respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A familiar and well-loved face within the community, Alan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
No flowers by request, donations are being gratefully received in Alan’s memory of behalf of North West Air Ambulance.

Alan was a true stalwart of the Clitheroe & District Probus Club. When it boasted a membership of 100, Alan was it’s Secretary for many years.
He was also the Chair on two occasions.. The second time offering his services when the Club membership was suffering after Covid.
His common sense, knowledge of procedure aided the Club in many ways..
A true gentleman who always loved a ‘naked’’ coffee (that’s black) and a pink wafer biscuit to start a Probus meeting.
Rest in peace Alan. You will be greatly missed.
A staunch and devoted member of the “red cross” coffee group, always ready to keep us abreast of the latest news. He was a wonderful friend and we will all miss him greatly. R.I.P. Alan
I’m so sorry for the loss of Grandad Daniels. He was a wonderful man who we all love. R. I. P Grandad Daniels.
