Beautiful lady who loved to sing

Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Bernie who passed away peacefully on 22nd August 2018 aged 54 years following a long illness, of Crumpsall and formerly of Bury. The much loved Mum of Beth, dearly loved daughter of Doreen and the late Vincent  and dear sister of the late Michael. Much loved by her family and friends.

Bernie was well known for her barmaid days at the Two Tubs in Bury – the oldest pub in the town. Bernie was a vibrant and colourful character with the loveliest smile. A Pied-Piper of people, she was at her happiest when socialising and in company. She loved people and had a wonderful sense of humour. She loved sunshine too and enjoyed travelling and having her holidays abroad. Bernie was gifted with a beautiful voice and would burst into song at the drop of a hat. She was articulate and sensitive and wrote poetry. Each day she would write and place a poem in Beth’s lunch box and Beth’s friends would eagerly await poem of the day. Bernie loved reading too and had a shoe collection to rival that of Imelda Marcos. She had a twinkle in her eye which lit up her whole face. A beautiful soul now gifted with peace, perfect peace.
