Lily Smithies

Peacefully in the loving care of Barn Fold Cottage Care Home on 2nd March 2021, Lily aged 86 years formerly of Clitheroe. The devoted wife of the late Harry, much loved mum of Lynda, dear mother-in-law of Stephen, cherished grandma of Anne-Louise and Christopher and great-grandma of Owen, Elizabeth, Cora and Jack.

Lily was born in Burnley in 1934, following her school years she began her working life at Lambert Haworth slipper works. Following her marriage to Harry, Lily moved to Clitheroe where she lived for the rest of her live until moving in to the loving care of Barn Fold Cottage five years ago. She worked as a shop assistant in various outlets becoming a well know face in the local community. Lily was a devoted wife and mum always giving herself freely to care for her family. She was a massive Daniel O’Donnell fan and one of her proudest moments was getting to meet her hero Daniel at his home in Donegal and she also attended his live concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and King George’s Hall with her daughter Lynda.

Lily will be greatly missed by all her family.
