Obituary Notice

On 3rd October 2026, suddenly, Mandy, aged 59 years, of Clayton-le-Moors. The dearly loved and loving partner of Simon, cherished mum of Ryan and Chloe, much-loved daughter of Ann and Jim, loving sister of Yvette, and a treasured auntie and dear friend to many.

Mandy was one of those people you simply couldn’t help but love. Funny, noisy, full of mischief and with a real zest for life, she had a way of sprinkling her fairy dust wherever she went. The life and soul of every party, she loved music, dancing, festivals and a good rave. David Bowie was her absolute favourite, so much so that she named her adored cats Ziggy and Stardust.

Mandy could talk for England, often getting so carried away that nobody else could get a word in, but that was all part of her charm. She loved life and wanted to share every bit of it. She played hockey and netball in her younger years, and remained a keen sports fan, supporting Chelsea and having a particular soft spot for Roy Keane. She loved watching football and films with Simon, and when Ryan and Chloe were little, she was often outside kicking a football around with them.

Gifted with eye for colour and style, Mandy could turn any house into a warm and welcoming home. She was naturally loving and generous, always putting others before herself, and nothing mattered more to her than the happiness of those she loved.

Mandy and Simon shared many lovely holidays, although their last trip to Whitehaven was especially precious. Mandy found deep pleasure just sitting looking out to sea, watching the ebb and flow of the tide. She told Simon that being by the sea was like being in Heaven. It was a beautiful moment of peace.

Life will certainly be quieter without Mandy, and a little less colourful too. She leaves behind so much love, laughter and perfectly happy memories, and whenever a David Bowie song plays, there will surely be someone smiling and thinking of this lovely lady. May she rest in peace, perfect peace.

Flowers are being received at the Chapel of Rest.
