Obituary Notice

On 27th July 2026 suddenly in hospital, Ros, aged 69 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The dealrly loved mum of Joanne, Jay, Michaela and Sean, loving nana to Faya-Rose, Kaide and Kaison, also a loved sister of Pam, Malcolm and the late Les, a dear sister in law, auntie and very dear to Sean.

Ros had a variety of jobs in her life from dog warden to shop assistant, working in a chippy and behind the bar at The Forts Arms. But it was as a dog warden that she was at her happiest. Ros adored animals especially her beloved horses. Killarney always held a special place in her heart and she loved to cheer Michaela on when competing on Ziggy and Killarney’s foal, Sambuca. Ros loved people and socialising. She was a familiar face in Clayton, enjoying her time visiting the pubs. At home, she was a great cook and her mince and dumplings, meat and potato pie and spaghetti Bolognese were legendary in the family. She had a great sense of humour and was always upbeat. At home she enjoyed watching the soaps and could often be found watching a Christmas movie at any time of the year – she liked nothing better than a good soppy Christmas romance film. And I mustn’t forget her love of Tequila!

Ros will be remembered for many things and will be deeply missed by all her loving family.

Donations in Memory of Ros are being gratefully received on behalf of Only Foals and Horses Sanctuary.
