Edna Mary Harrison ‘Mary’

After leaving school, Mary went to teacher training college and went on to be a teacher at Sacred Heart primary school in Accrington where she worked up until retirement at the age of 60.  She remained with the school as a governor.

A keen rambler and gardener, Mary always kept a beautiful garden throughout the seasons.  She enjoyed craftwork, sewing, knitting and needlework and particularly enjoyed making alter cloths for St Charles RC Church, Rishton where she was an active and lifelong member.

Mary lived at home with her dear mother Ellen all her life.
