Tony Metcalfe

Peacefully, with his family at his side on 3rd May 2026, Tony, aged 87 years, of Accrington. The devoted husband of the late Betty; a loved and loving dad of Neil & Paul; a dear father-in-law of Gail and Vilma; and a proud and cherished grandad of William, Liberty and Elizabeth. Also a respected relative and friend to many.

Tony spent his working life serving for LCC as a Building and Maintenance Officer, a position that he held for over 20 years. He enjoyed his work and made many good and loyal friends throughout the years. He was a former member of Hyndburn Singers and Accrington Male Voice Choir. Tony had the most amazing sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye; making people laugh came naturally to him. He loved to chat and had the ability to connect with everyone, always showing a great interest in other people. He was kind and generous, and he was the most proud grandad to his grandchildren, who adored him in return. He was also a Freemason and a member of Ryddings Lodge, and would always be available to help out with Masonic duties. In his younger years, Tony shared many wonderful holidays with his beloved wife Betty, travelling to various destinations across Europe.

Tony was a true gentleman who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
