John David Barnes

Suddenly at home on 18th April 2026, John, aged 63 years, of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted and much-loved partner of Amanda, a loving and dearly loved dad of Steven, Jade and Nathan, a dear father-in-law of Amy, a cherished grandad of Tessa, and a respected relative and friend to many.

A former HGV and coach driver for SB Tippers and Red Rose Coaches, John was dedicated to his work and loved the freedom of the open road. His career took him across the UK and beyond, something he truly enjoyed. An aviation enthusiast, John had an incredible knowledge of aircraft, with a particular fondness for the Airbus A320. He even created his very own flight simulator at home, where he spent many happy hours “flying” around the world, a true passion that would light up his face with the biggest smile. In later years, he also developed a love of flying drones, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with his son Nathan. Family meant everything to John. He was deeply devoted to his beloved Amanda, and his children and grandchildren were truly the apple of his eye. Holidays were always special times, with Blackpool being a firm favourite, he loved the buzz and bright lights, along with trips to the Lake District, where days were happily spent out on the water.

John was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered for the love and care he so generously shared.
