  • Mark Wing-Davey says:

Dorothy Driver (née Crowther) was a lovely strong woman. The younger sister of Louie Carey (née Crowther) the mother of my late wife Anita Carey. Louie would often refer to her as “our Bill”, which was clearly a Crowther nickname. She had a delightfully robust sense of humour, very Northern, and all the better for it. We relished those times we could spend with her in various configurations of her family. I know that particularly after Anita’s cancer diagnosis it was really important for us to spend some time with her. Our last visit up North was in May 2021 and it meant the world to us. Though somewhat diminished, she was just as dry and twinkly, . We’ll all miss her and send our family condolences to Ann, Edward and their respective families. Mark, Zanna, Bella, and the great-grand-daughters: Dorothea (named after Dorothy), Georgina, Céline and Élodie
