Philip Evans ‘Phil’

Suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on 1st April 2026, Philip, aged 80 years, of Rishton. The devoted and much loved husband of Denise; loving dad of Steven and the late Paul; dear father-in-law of Nina, cherished grandad of Lara, Oliver, Halle and Leon, great-grandad of Raf, and a dear brother of Andrew, Peter and the late David, and a dear relative and friend to many.

Former business partner at CMS, Philip was dedicated to his work, making many good friends along the way. He also spent time working in previous years at Galbraith’s and Tilcon. He was a keen and passionate gardener and grower, producing the most amazing fruit and vegetables—far more than needed—so each year friends and neighbours would be treated to his tasty greens. His passion for growing led him to be a founder member and treasurer at Piggy Park Community Gardens. Phil loved to keep active, and each morning he would head off to the Dunkenhalgh for a swim, accompanied by his beloved wife Denise. He also enjoyed his daily walk and fishing trips with his son. In more recent years, Phil developed a passion for model making and could sit happily for hours creating his latest masterpiece. Each day he would get his newspaper, enjoy a quick read before settling down to complete the crosswords and puzzles.
