A Funeral Service will be held in St. Bartholomew and St John's Church, Great Harwood prior to interment in Great Harwood Cemetery.

Unexpectedly but peacefully on 25th March 2026 at Blackburn hospital, Barbara aged 84 of Great Harwood. She was the loving wife of the late John (Jack), treasured mum of Nicola, Andrew, Anthony and loved mother-in-law to Stephen, Joanne and Sharon. Barbara was also a devoted and much loved Grandma to Matthew, Luke, Eve, Annie and Lewis.
Barbara, originally from Darwen, started off her working life in Payroll at Walpamur after attending Darwen Tech. She married Jack in 1962 and became a mother to her three children, then in 1976 the family moved to Great Harwood where they ran the Newsagents on Windsor Road. She is known by many in Great Harwood for running the shop for 24 years serving many loyal customers during this time.
Barbara enjoyed her annual holidays with Jack, where she travelled to the likes of America and many European destinations. Retirement came in 2001 and Barbara became a hands-on grandmother and an extremely pivotal person in all their lives. She was a Blackburn Rovers Season Ticket holder for several years and was always happy to chat football.
She will be missed by many and fondly remembered for her kind and comforting nature. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her loving husband Jack.
