Memorial Book
Peacefully passed away in hospital on 23rd December 2025 following a long illness, Dave aged 70 years of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Leicestershire. The devoted and much loved partner of Jill, loving and loved dad of Dean, Tracy and Danielle, dear father-in-law of Mark, a cherished grandad and great-grandad and a dear brother, uncle, relative and friend.
Born in Leicestershire, Dave lived the majority of his life living there until he met his adored partner Jill and he made the move to Lancashire, settling in Clayton-le-Moors. Dave was an avid Roller Pigeon Fancier and a well known face in the pigeon fancier community. His love of his feathered friends saw him travel around the world and he even became famous when he ended up on television with his adored birds. His working life was spent as a builder and plasterer before moving in to shop fitting, he was highly skilled and had the ability to turn his hand to any task and was a master of his trade. although he was known to be a little accident prone, often finding himself with a work related injury. He was a natural leader and a master of delegation, a skill that came naturally to him. He loved to buy and sell cars and when at home he loved to settle to watch television, and although he would deny it, he was a lover of the soaps, especially Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Dave was loved and treasured by all of his family and friends and he will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in Dave’s memory on behalf of British Heart Foundation.

Uncle David used to look after me when I was little. He used to take me to the park, spoil me and buy me sweets… and he let me stay up late and sleep with the light on when I was scared.
I love you and miss you Uncle David … sleep peacefully and give my Mum a kiss and a hug from me xxxxxx 💜
