Memorial Book
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on 27th December 2025, Edgar, aged 76 years, of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted husband of the late Yvonne, a loving dad to Michael, Mark and Simon, a dear father-in-law to Sarah, and a cherished grandad to Katie. Edgar was also a much-loved relative and a respected friend to many.
A well-known and much-loved local character, Edgar was a familiar face at The Albion, where he enjoyed a pint or two while chatting with his many friends. Kind, generous, and always willing to help anyone at any time, Edgar had a gift for conversation and could make friends wherever he went. Once you became friends with Edgar, you truly had a friend for life. He shared an especially close and loving bond with his granddaughter Katie and always looked forward to hearing about her adventures in life. Trips to Worcestershire to visit his son were greatly treasured, and during these visits he made many friends, enjoying catching up with them on each return visit. A lifelong Burnley supporter, Edgar faithfully followed his team either from the comfort of his home or in the pub. He lived a simple life guided by strong values and respect for others, and he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
No flowers please. Donations, if desired, are being gratefully received in Edgar’s memory for the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

I only knew Edgar as a cracking bloke who used to stand at the bar at The Albion when we went in as a group on bikes on a Thursday night. He always spoke to me to say hello and make a bit of small talk. The world would be a better place if there more of his kind, a true gentleman.
Rip Edgar your now at peace with your Yvonne.
