A private family service will be held.
On 1st November, suddenly at her home, Sue, aged 55 years of Great Harwood passed away. Loved mum of Ryan and Bridie, and loved nana of George.
Sue spent the earlier part of her life devoted to caring for her two children, always working hard to provide for them and creating a loving home. Later in life, she fulfilled her ambition of becoming a social worker, specialising in supporting people with substance abuse and mental health. Her work was driven by the qualities that defined her: compassion, understanding and acceptance.
Highly intelligent and a natural scholar, Sue was always learning. She devoted herself to study, not only to deepen her knowledge and skills, but also to discover more about who she was. As an avid reader, her home was filled with literature and textbooks, a reflection of her curiosity and lifelong commitment to personal growth.
Home was her sanctuary, and thanks to a gifted eye for colour and design, paired with a true can-do spirit, Sue took pride in creating spaces that were warm, inviting and unmistakably her own. A talented artist, she loved to draw and paint, capturing animals, still life and favourite pictures with care and skill. Her creativity shone through in everything she did.
She was effortlessly funny, with incredible wit and could bring a smile on even the hardest days. With a spontaneous nature, and a love for the outdoors, adventures were never far away.
She had a love for cats, and after enjoying the companionship of her own, she began to foster cats in need, providing them with a safe and loving home in which to spend their days.
Sue was a most reserved and private person who expressed herself through her art and the music she loved so much, ranging from Paul Weller to the classical music she loved to play softly in the background whilst studying late into the night.
Sue will be deeply missed, and will be remembered with love, profound gratitude and for the creativity, compassion and kindness she shared with those close to her.
