Barbara Ruth Youles

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on 3rd October 2025, Barbara, aged 89 years, of Copster Green.
The devoted and much-loved wife of Frank, loved and loving mum of Philip, dear mother-in-law of Louise, cherished grandma of Joe and Jasmine, and a dear relative and friend to many.

Barbara spent her working life in accounts, beginning as a comptometer operator for an accounting firm. She had a natural gift for numbers and a meticulous eye for detail, always ensuring the books balanced perfectly, right down to the very last penny. Ever eager to learn, Barbara embraced new technology as it came along, quickly mastering the world of computing. Her enthusiasm and skill led her to teach computing in Burnley, sharing her knowledge with others. She also worked in the family business, Printing & Trade Services, before later joining her son at Youles Motorcycles, where her sharp organisational skills and precision kept the office running like clockwork.

A true social butterfly, Barbara loved to entertain. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she took great joy in bringing people together around the table to enjoy her delicious home cooked meals and a good glass of wine. Her family was at the very heart of her life, she was a devoted and adoring grandma who delighted in hearing about her grandchildren’s adventures and accomplishments.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed the peace of her garden and the creativity of her needlework. She also shared in Frank’s passion for motorcycles, and together they loved travelling to rallies, catching up with their many friends from the biking community.
