Marjory Taylor
On 8th February 2021, peacefully at her home in Sabden, Marjory aged 88 years. The dearly beloved wife of the late George, much loved and loving mum of Philip and daughter in law Sandra, cherished grandma of Sam and James and proud great grandma of Gaston. Also a dearly loved sister, sister in law and auntie.
Marjory trained as a secretary and worked at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, before becoming company secretary of the family business, Jacquard Design Service. She really enjoyed the company of others and loved socialising too. Always beautifully presented and elegant, Marjory loved her clothes and shoes and had a great eye for style. She had also been an avid fan of Man United, especially Marcus Rashford and his support of the charity FareShare. Marjory was first and foremost a devoted and loving family lady who adored her grandsons Sam and James and was overjoyed at the birth of great grandson Gaston. Nicknamed ‘Queenie’ because of her love of holding court with all her family and friends, Marjory was in her element keeping up to date with their latest news – it kept her young. Marjory will be remembered for her ‘cheeky cigarettes’, her love of chatting and her selfless devotion to her family.
