Marie Sutton
Of your charity please pray for the Repose of the Soul of Marie who passed away peacefully fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church and surrounded by her loving family aged 84 years and of Rishton. The devoted and much loved wife of Donald, loving and loved mum of David, Anthony and Susan, dear mother-in-law of Adele, cherished grandma of Nicolas, Daniel and Cory, great-grandma of Teddy and Tommy and also a respected relative and friend. Requiesce in pace
Born and raised in Rishton, Marie was devout in her faith, finding her solace and strength within the walls of St Charles RC Church where she was an active life long member of the congregation. Marie spent her working life as a wages clerk working at Jones Textilaties, Blackburn and with her super organisational skills Marie was always the office whizz and well respected by her colleagues. She kept the family home running like clockwork ensuring everything was always in its correct place. She met the love of her life Don whilst at a dance at Blackburn King Georges Hall and they created the most amazing partnership spanning over 60 years. They always looked forward to their annual holiday to Blackpool when they would enjoy visits to the shows and the dances. Marie was an avid cricket and football supporter and could often be found heading to Rishton Cricket Club where she was a former member to support her local team, she also enjoyed visits to Ewood Park with Don and children to watch her beloved Rovers play. Marie was the most doting family lady who always looked forward to getting the family together for a celebration and a catchup.
