‘Tony’ Anthony Stephen Mount
Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on 24th November 2024, Tony aged 80 years of Baxenden. The adored and much loved husband of Adele, loved dad of Daryl, Tanya and Nadene, cherished grandad of Stephen, Johnny-Lee, Dane, Chelsea, Lauren, Gabby and Philly, a cherished great-grandad, dear father-in-law of John, Alison, Nikki and Damian dear brother of Brian, Jean, June, Carol and Christopher, brother-in-law of Barbara, Alan and Pete and a loved relative and good friend to many.
Tony began his working life at Accrington Brickworks where he remained for many years before becoming a postman and later a driver. He loved his work and over his working life, Tony made many good and loyal friends. He was a John Wayne film fanatic and he watched all the movies over and over again and he was proud to be able to beat him in a gun draw. Holidays were a firm favourite time for Tony and each year he always looked forward to escaping for some well earned rest and relaxation, in younger years holidays were spent at Pontin’s, Southport enjoying family time and in his later years he preferred to relax in the warm sunshine of Turkey. He also enjoyed horse racing and could often be found having a flutter to try his hand at a win.
