The service to celebrate Derek's life will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA led by Civil Celebrant Lianna Champ
Peacefully in Hope House Nursing Home, Derek aged 86 years. Husband of the late Doreen, loving Dad of Ian and Graeme, father-in-law of Ruth & Kathryn, grandad of Vickie, Leanne, Nicola, Claire, Matthew, great grandad of Joshua, Jacob, Ava-Rose, Holly, Isaac, Lilly and brother Craig (last surviving of seven).
Derek spent his working life in sales for Alexander Sloane furniture company. He was hard working and efficient and trained the managers at new branches. He married the love of his life and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Derek was a devoted dad to his sons and adored being a grandad and great grandad. He was an avid reader of westerns or war stories and would laugh along at the top of his voice to Last of the Summer Wine. It gave him so much pleasure to feed the birds in his garden and Derek had more bird feeders than you can count and enjoyed every type of breed, especially his favourite little robin.

David's funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA led by Civil Celebrant Lianna Champ

Steam engine enthusiast
On 16th May 2017 peacefully in hospital with his girls by his side, Dave aged 80 years of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Rishton. The devoted dad of Linda and Helen, dear father-in-law of John and Gary, cherished grandad of Dan, and respected companion to the late Dot.
David ran Goodwin's hardware shop in Rishton where he became a well-known local face. David enjoyed model engineering and was also Treasurer of Eddisford Bridge Model Railway. He built the model diesel engine for the track and had a passion for all steam engines. He aways enjoyed days out visiting family members and two years ago particularly enjoyed a holiday to Poland taking in the local culture and sights. David loved cats and in his younger years always took in the local strays.

The funeral service to celebrate Irene's life will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA led by Civil Celebrant Lianna Champ
On 16th May 2017 peacefully in hospital, Irene aged 81 years of Church, Accrington and formerly of Haslingden. The devoted and much loved wife of Walter, loving mum of Valerie, Anthony, Susan, Angela, Tracy and the late David, a dear mother-in-law and cherished nana and great-grandma, dear sister, and relative and friend to many.
Irene started her working life as a weaver in the mills in Haslingden and then worked for many local firms. She later worked for 30 years at Altham Ambulance Station as a domestic worker. She very much enjoyed her work and worked up to 78 years of age. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed knitting and making clothes for the family. She also enjoyed her garden which she kept immaculate and it was always full of colour in the summer. Irene enjoyed her famly holidays at her static caravan at Middleton Sands and Scorton, and in later years she enjoyed her holidays to Benidorm where she would relax in the sun. Irene enjoyed a long and happy marriage to Walter for over 62 years. She was a proud nana and great grandma who loved family life and enjoyed getting all four generations together.

Peacefully whilst on holiday on Saturday 13th May 2017, Sarah aged 61 years of Clayton-le-Moors, formerly of Oswaldtwistle and Glasgow. The devoted and much loved wife of Paul, loving mum of Paul, Michelle, Sharon and Donna, dear step-mum of Simon, Damian and Joseph, loved mother-in-law, cherished nan, and dear relative and friend to many.
Born in Scotland, Sarah moved to Blackburn. Sarah worked as a blade inspector at R.L.C. in Altham before taking early retirement due to ill-health. Sarah loved going out on day trips and also spent every weekend at Ocean Edge where she had a static caravan. She enjoyed her relaxing holidays in the sunshine in Europe and worldwide. Sarah was a bit of a party animal and she always knew how to have a good time. She enjoyed life and always made the most of what she had. Sarah was a proud nan who loved her grandchildren very much and always enjoyed family visits.
