Devoted family man
On 3rd August 2017 peacefully in the hospice, Martyn aged 57 years of Great Harwood. The dearly loved husband of Lesley, loving dad of Jess and Dom, very dear father-in-law of Karim, a loved son of Marian and Jim, loved son-in-law of Sylvia and the late Keith, much loved brother and also a dearly loved brother-in-law and uncle.
Martyn was an engineer at DSF Delmac in Blackburn most of his working life before moving into Waste Management. He was hard working, meticulous, and could turn his hand to anything. He was a particular dab hand at DIY, loved fishing locally and loved gardening. In his spare time, Martyn enjoyed watching Grand Designs, Come Dine with Me and Scrapheap Challenge. He was a devoted family man who liked dining out and family holidays abroad, especially Ibiza where he always enjoyed the sunshine. Martyn also had a best friend in his dog, Benson.
Donations may be made in memory of Martyn on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice.

The service to celebrate Florence's life will be held at St Mary's RC Church, Clayton-le-Moors followed by committal at Accrington Crematorium
Florence Josephine Pollard
Devoted and loving mum
On 18th July 2017, peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family and fortified by the Rites of the Holy Mother Church, Florence aged 85 years of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Oswaldtwistle. Devoted and much loved wife of Albert, loving mum of Stephen, dear sister of Margaret, and also a much loved auntie and friend to many.
Florence worked at Luptons and then later as a care assistant at Woodlands Care Home in Clayton-le-Moors. She was born in Cartron, Killasser, Co. Mayo. One of 9 children, she moved to England with her family at the age of 13. Florence met Albert on the train, on the way home from Blackburn, after a night out at Tony's dance hall.
Florence was a very caring lady who always put others before herself. She was a devoted mum who dedicated all her time to her son Stephen. Nonetheless, she still found time to look after nephews and nieces, as well as providing support for those around her.
Florence - so dearly loved, so sadly missed.

Martin's Funeral Service will take place at Dill Hall Cemetery at the Graveside
Martin Melvin Mayor
On 24th July 2017 in hospital Martin aged 60 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The much loved son of the late Thomas and Catherine, loving father of Lee, Jason and their families and brother of the late John, Martin was also a good friend to many.
A well known character who was known locally as Donny Osmand, Martin had a keen eye for the ladies in his younger years and was a bit of a chick magnet. A master of table football he could often be found defending his title. He enjoyed meeting up with his many friends in the pubs of Clayton and was always the life and soul of the party and often enjoyed singing along to his favorite Irish folk songs.
Martin will be fondly remebered by all his family and friends.

Vincent Rigby 'Vinny'
Former landlord of Volunteer Arms, Clayton-le-Moors
Peacefully at his home on 21st July 2017, Vinny aged 78 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted and much love husband of the late Norma, loving dad of Joanne, Lee and Danielle, cherished grandad of Jonathan, Lukas and Joseph, dear brother of Ted, Sheila and the late Bill and Rita, Vinny was also a good friend to all who knew him.
Vinny was a haulage driver throughout his life and ran his own comapny H & R Direct Deliveries, he was also the former Landlord of the Volunteer Arms in Clayton and became a well known face in the community throughout his seven years in the pub. A motorsport and boxing enthusiast Vinny loved to settle in his local pub with a pint and his mates to watch the latest race or fight. He always looked forward to his holidays and in younger years these were spent with his family in France and later he enjoyed trips to Austrailia to visit his sister and spent many happy times in Spain with family firends. A devoted and proud grandad who always looked forward to spending time with his grandsons.

A caring, selfless lady
Peacefully on 18th July 2017 at Townfield, Great Harwood, Corrie, aged 85 years, formerly of Accrington. The devoted wife of the late Alan, loving mum of Elaine and Jacqui, dear mother-in-law of David and Jim, cherished grandma of Stewart and Charlie, great grandma of Theodore, and dear sister of John and his wife Ann.
Corrie was very proud to work as a Home Help for Lancashire County Council for over 30 years right up until her retirement. She loved her work and went above and beyond for all her clients. She was a selfless lady who always put others first. Corrie had a passion for knitting and enjoyed knitting teddies for overseas children through a church charity. She was an avid reader and showed a particular interest in reading about history. Corrie loved family and getting together and created fantastic memories when she travelled to both Paris and Venice with her daughters.
