On 20th August 2016 peacfully in hospital, Andy aged 38 years of Accrington. Much loved son of Kath and Malcolm, Dad of Natalie and Josh, loving brother of Warren, Dave and the late Chris, loving partner of Cara and dear to her children Kyran, Ellis, Darcy and Kamie, also a loved uncle and cousin.

Andy was a paint sprayer and was also an avid Burnley Football fan.  A great cook, he made the best curries and enjoyed watching cookery programs on TV.  He enjoyed watchng horror films too.  Andy had a great sense of humour and a great love of music and fishing. He adored his pet Budgie Percy and he loved dogs too.

Loving Grandma and keen gardener

Suddenly in hospital, surrounded by her loving family on 15th August 2016, Shirley aged 74 years of Knuzden. The much loved and devoted partner of Les, loving mum of Karl, Mark and Neil, also a dear mother-in-law, cherished grandma and great-grandma.

Shirley spent her working life as a machinist at Mullards and ROF, she enjoyed her work and had many good friends.  Shirley loved gardening and could often be found in her garden wich she kept immaculate and it would bloom with an array of colours throughout the summer.  She loved going shopping and going on holidays to Greece, especially Zante, with her partner Les of twenty years.  Shirley was a devoted grandma and great-grandma.

On 12th August 2016 peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice surrounded by his loving family Mark aged 53 years of Accrington. The loving dad of Charlotte and Dominic, dear son of Peter and Ann, cherished grandad of Harley, dear brother of Paul and his wife Wendy, treasured uncle of Danica and James, Mark also leaves many good friends.

Mark spent his working life as a machinist in engineering working for many companies in the local area, including Meltech. A keen pool player, Mark played for Lancashire County and also many local pub teams in the area. He also loved all other sports and enjoyed spending many happy hours by the water fishing.
A very proud grandad, Mark loved nothing more than spending time with his family and always treated his grandson Harley. Mark enjoyed many holidays around Europe, relaxing the sunshine.

Horse racing enthusiast

On 11th August 2016 peacefully at the Woodlands care home Richard aged 90 years formerly of Clayton-le-Moors and Accrington. The devoted husband of the late Edna, much loved father of Carl and dear brother-in-law of Alan.

Richard served with the Royal Navy during WW2 having volunteered in early 1943 - 1946 and was the last surviving member of HMS St Brides Bay Association first commission. He was very proud to have served his country. Following WW2 he began work at shopfitter's and later worked in the building and steel erection trade. In later years he enjoyed extensive travel with his wife Edna visiting many countries of Europe and especially enjoyed their many trips to Italy. Richard especially loved horse racing, enjoyed a bet and always looked forward  to visiting race courses with his friends from Bold Steet WMC and the King’s Arms, Accrington. A hard working and humble gentleman who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Devoted caring lady

On 9th August peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family Margaret aged 60 years of Blackburn. The devoted and much loved wife of the late David, loving mum of Neil and the late Paula, a dear mother-in-law, cherished grandma and great-grandma and a much loved sister. 
A loving and caring lady who loved to help others, Margret worked in nursing for over twenty four years at Blackburn Royal Infirmary until her retirement, she made many good friends and was a well known face in the hospital. Away from her work she loved to travel, they enjoyed both sightseeing and relaxation holidays and travelling around Europe and worldwide. Margaret lived in Spain and Cornwall before moving back to her roots in Blackburn. A proud mum, grandma and great-grandma who loved nothing more than getting her family together and always took the opportunity to spoil her great-grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed shopping and could often be found browsing in the shops of Blackburn with her sisters.
