Well respected former newsagent
Suddenly at his home on 3rd November 2016 Jim aged 81 years of Accrington and formerly of Oswaldtwistle. The dearly loved and devoted dad of Joan, Susan and Alec, dear father-in-law of Martin, Amanda, and the late Peter, cherished grandad of Christopher, Charlotte, Kerry-Rose, Alfie, Orla, great grandad of Harlow, dear brother-in-law and uncle.
Jim was brought up at Sough Lane Farm, Guide where he helped with the family poultry business. In later years he became a well known and well respected local shop owner having formerly been the owner of Shaws Newsagents on Union Road in Oswaldtwistle. He was also a Groundsman at Accrington Stanley Football Club from 1986 until his retirement aged 67 years. He loved his work and his sports and had been a keen supporter of Blackburn Rovers and enjoyed attending the matches.. A DIY enthusiast, Jim could turn his hand to any job and was always happy to help out the family. He was a private man who liked to keep himself to himself but would always put others first.

Devoted and loving family man
On 30th October 2016 suddenly at his home in North Wales, Ken aged 74 years formerly of Accrington. The devoted and loved husband of the late June, much loved Dad of Kim and son in law Kevin, loved grandad of Karl, Lee, Kieron and Ashley, great grandad of Summer Louise, Josh, Ashton, McKenzie, Ellie May, Jake, Leighton and Lewis, also a dear brother of Trevor and a dear brother in law and uncle.
For most of his working life Ken was a foreman at Prestige in Burnley and Blackburn. He was first and foremost a devoted and loving husband and family man. An avid fisherman, he loved camping too - at his happiest being outdorors in nature. He and June enjoyed their sunshine holidays abroad throughout Europe. They bought a caravan in Caernarvon in Wales and loved it so much that they moved to Prestatyn, thoroughly enjoying the way of life there and being by the sea. Ken enjoyed watching TV especially the Carry On films. He liked reading too. Ken and June had shared a wonderful marriage and were best friends. He was devoted to Kim and his grandcihldren and great grandchildren.

With dignity and in peace at Haslingden Hall Care Home on 28th October 2016, Jim aged 85 years formerly of Wooley Lane, Baxenden. Loving husband of the late Jean, much loved Dad of Caroline, Julie and Janet, dear father-in-law of John and Alan, and cherished grandpa of Lauren, Justin, Nicholas, Joshua, Mark and Sarah.

Janice Elizabeth Ormerod
Much loved lady
On 28th October 2016 suddenly in hospital, Janice, aged 67 years of Accrington. The dearly loved mum of Dean and Rachel, loving mother-in-law of Ryan, devoted grandma of James, Megan, Thomas and Millie, and dear sister of Tony, Val and Ted.
Janice, a former auxiliary nurse at Royal Blackburn Hospital, was a positive, bubbly lady who had a unique way of expressing herself. She liked nothing better than sitting out in the sunshine and was a familiar sight on the bench outside her home where bus drivers often waved to her. Devoted to her family, Janice also loved socialising with her friends who were a big part of her life. Much fun was had on her girlie weekends in Blackpool and sunshine holidays in Majorca and Benidorm. In her spare time she enjoyed reading romance novels and often took up new hobbies that she never got round to finishing. She was a fun person to be around and made everyone feel happy.
