On 4th October 2016 suddenly in hospital, Irene aged 69 years of Clayton-le-Moors.  The dearly beloved wife of Raymond, loving mum of Pauline, Grant, Caroline and Simon, much loved sister of Ellen, Brian, Krysia and Yvonne, also a loved mother-in-law, sister-in-law and devoted granny and great granny, and loving aunt to many.

Irene began her nursing career in Scotland before moving to Accrington in 1970 when she became full-time mum and housewife and later worked as childminder and part-time cleaner at Planet Kitchens, eventually being promoted to work in the office in an accounts position, and later worked at Simon Jersey as a VDU operator before taking her retirement.  A selfless lady who devoted her spare time to St Mary's RC Church where she ran the piety stall.  Irene could often been found knitting away whilst enjoying her favourtie television programmes - Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Jeremy Kyle.

Devoted family lady

Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on 2nd October 2016, April aged 42 years of Accrington. The devoted and much loved wife of Gary, loving mum and best friend of Tamsin and her partner Daniel, daughter of George and Pauline Bowen of Colne, and sister to Andrew Bowen.

April moved to Accrington in 1997 where she worked for several years as a care worker in the local community, a job that that she enjoyed and which reflected her caring personality.  April loved most of all spending time with her close family and, as she was a great lover of nature and the outdoors, she enjoyed camping holidays with the family and walking her border collie, Mollie.  She was also a bit of a party animal and liked to go to concerts with her family and enjoyed many a night out in Manchester partying til the early hours.

Proud mum and grandma

Peacefully in East Lancashire Hospice on 30th September 2016, Pat aged 57 years of Church.  The much loved mum of Antony, Christopher, Thomas and Sara, cherished Grandma of Kira, Kaiden, Kaleb, dear sister of Carol and sister-in-law of Frank and dear friend to Dianne.
Born and raised in Rochdale, Pat later moved to Heywood with her family before settling in Church with her children.  She enjoyed trips to the coast and always looked forward to her annual family holiday in Blackpool and always travelled self catering so she could enjoy a variety of nightlife.  Pat’s working life was spent in the cotton mills and later as a warden for the social services.  She took early retirement in 2000 to care for her youngest child.  A devoted family lady who always looked forward to family visits.  Pat could often be found sat back enjoying a smoke and a tipple with her best friend Dianne putting the world to rights.  Pat will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Cherished nanna

On 3rd October peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family, Fran aged 64 years of Clayton-le-Moors.  The devoted mum of John, Wane, Andrew, Leanne and the late Lisa, dear sister of Carol, Kathleen and Graham and the late David, dear sister-in-law of Maxine and also cherished nanna of Harvey, Alfie, Astile and Michaela, and a good friend to Mary.

Fran loved family life and loved nothing more than getting together for family celebrations.  She especially loved being nanna and always spoiled her grand children at every opportunity.  Fran loved holidays in Blackpool ideally with her family and only recently spent a lovely weekend at the Norbreck Castle even enjoying a couple of drinks.  A former factory worker and later care assistant, Fran enjoyed relaxing at home watching her favourite soaps and never missed an episode.

Loving wife and mum

On 27th September 2016 suddenly at the family home Gail aged 56 years of Accrington.  The much loved wife of David and mum of Pierce, Reece, Frazer, Lewis and Freya and a good friend to many.

Gail and David met whilst Gail was working as a senior psychiatric nurse at Gisburn Hospital.  Gail later went on to do voluntary work for the Samaritans.  Gail enjoyed spending time with her very close family and recently threw a 70th birthday party for David which the whole family thoroughly enjoyed.  Gail was always immaculately presented and loved to get her hair done every week. She also loved flowers, her favourite flower being a tiger lily.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
