The service to celebrate Ken's life followed by cremation will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA with the attendance of the Royal British Legion

Former Sergeant of the 16th/5th Queen's Royal Lancers
On 9th November 2016 peacefully in hospital, Ken aged 81 years of Clayton-le-Moors. Much loved husband of Edith, devoted dad of Lynne and son-in-law Nigel, wonderful grandad to Christopher and Gemma, dear brother-in-law to Joan, and uncle to Gareth and Gillian.
Ken was a very proud, upright and hardworking gentleman. Having served in the 16th/5th Queen's Royal Lancers for 22 years he then worked for the Lancashire Police in Accrington as a Prison Van Driver before his retirement. Ken had also been a devoted and active Freemason for 30 years and twice Grand Master. In his spare time Ken enjoyed caravanning in the UK with Edith. He was an avid reader of war books and loved to watch war films and westerns whilst smoking his pipe with the cat sitting on his knee. He particularly liked to reminisce about his army days and never missed a re-union. He loved steak pudding and chips and thoroughly enjoyed a gin and tonic. Ken was a wonderful and definite character. He seemed to know everyone and was very popular amongst his friends and enjoyed his pint of mild.

Jean's funeral service will take place at St. Bartholomew's Church, Gt. Harwood followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium
On 20th November 2016 peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice and surrounded by her loving family, Jean aged 74 years of Great Harwood, formerly of Accrington. The devoted and much loved wife of Peter, loving mum of Glen and Sue, dear mother-in-law of Chris and much loved step-mother of Mark and Ian, cherished gran of Gabby, Oliver, Tom, Ben, Isla, Nieve, and dear friend to Bernice and Dorothy.
Jean was an avid reader of biographies and a skilled IT user. She would often spend time on her iPad hunting for her next bargain or searching for a new place to explore for her next adventure, be it a leisure holiday or an active holiday. She loved gardens, sewing and shopping trips. Jean worked as a civil servant for the Job Centre all her life up until retiring and became a well known face in Accrington as a result of her work. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid traveller, extensively visiting Europe and the U.S.A.

Donald's funeral service will take place at All Saints Church, Clayton-le-Moors followed by interment at Dill Hall Cemetery
Lifelong Accrington Stanley Supporter
On 14th November peacefully at the Hollies Nursing Home, Clayton-le-Moors, Donald aged 92 years formerly of Accrington. The dearly loved husband of the late Mary, much loved dad of Donald and Brian, step-dad of Philamena, dear father-in-law of Frances, Joanna and Raymond, a cherished grandad, great-grandad and great-great grandad and also a dear relative and friend to many.
Donald served in the second world war in the Royal Signals and was stationed in many different countries throughout the war. He later went on to work at Ewbank, Pioneer and GEC in the stores retiring at the age of 65 from his senior storeman's position. Aside from work Donald loved to watch football. He was a lifelong supporter of Accrington Stanley and always attended the matches in his younger years. Donald always enjoyed holidays to Knott End and Fleetwood and he always looked forward to family visits so long as it did not interfere with his football. He loved listening to music and playing bingo. Donald was a kind gentleman who would help anyone and always put others first.

On 14th November 2016 peacefully in a private care home, Margaret aged 89 years formerly of Darwen and Baxenden. The devoted wife of the late Milton, much loved mum of Allan, Ian, Keith and Kathryn, dear mother-in-law to Jacquline and David, cherished grandma of Alison, Helen, Adam, Victoria, Charlotte, Olivia and Katie, dear sister of Jean and Jimmy and also a cherished relative and friend.

Linda Anne Hanson (Nee Fletcher)
On 12th November 2016 peacefully in The Christie Hospital, Linda aged 69 years. The very much loved Mum of Michael Oliver, former wife of Michael Fred Hanson and lifelong friend until the end, loved daughter of the late Florence and Fred Fletcher, much loved sister of Susan, Stephen and the late Janine, dear sister in law of James (Jim) and loving auntie of James and Edward.
Linda was brought up on The Old Engine Farm in Altham and attended Accrington High School for Girls. She began her working life in sales and was intelligent, energetic and determined. When Linda married Michael, she became involved in the Hanson family business and later became Head of Sales at Hanson Trucks. She was very successsful and dynamic in her position and went on to develop her own successful private medical business. She had natural skills and a great business acumen. She retired to Bodrum in Turkey to enjoy the sunsshine. Linda had a big heart and was very loving and caring. She truly believed in the circle of care- that you couldn't receive love and kindness without giving them back in full measure. She was popular and always beautifully presented. A lovely lady inside and out.
