On 16th February 2017 Linda, aged 67 years of Baxenden, formerly of Accrington. The devoted wife of the late Donald, much loved mum of Paul, David and Simon, dear mother-in-law of Helen and Louise, cherished grandma of Morgan, loved sister of Tony and Norman, dear sister-in-law of Hazel, Margaret and Susan, and a treasured auntie and dear friend to many.
Linda worked as a shop assistant throughout her working life and retired from the Works Bookshop in Accrington. Linda enjoyed watching Rugby League and attending matches and was a big fan of Wigan Warriors. She loved her relaxing holidays in the sun and Lindos in Rhodes was a particular favourite of hers. Linda was an active member of Trinity Community Church and got involved in Sunday School and the Craft Group. She also got involved with the 2nd Accrington Company Boys Brigade based at Woodnook Baptist Church. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, needlework and knitting and knitted clothes for her three boys. She also liked to read and watch DVD's and spending time with her dog Buddy and her cat Dominoe.

Devoted family lady who loved cooking
On 15th February 2017 peacefully in hospital Jean aged 87 years of Accrington. The devoted wife of the late Tony, much loved mum of Rosalie, Stuart, John, Judith and the late Russell, dear mother-in-law to Stewart and Yvonne, cherished grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma.
Jean started work aged 14 in the shoe industry and continued to work in retail for many years and later in life worked in the offices of Metflix. Jean loved her holidays in her caravan and following the loss of her husband she travelled worldwide and loved to go sightseeing. She also loved cooking and always prepared beautiful meals for her family. Jean liked to spend time in her garden and always kept it immaculate. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlework and was also partial to the odd glass of wine in the evening.

Loving dad and grandad
On 10th February 2017 peacefully at his home, Joe aged 64 years of Rishton and formerly of Maryport Cumbria. The devoted and loving dad of Daniel, Jennifer, Sarah, Wayne, Calum, Jack and Lisa, dear brother of Josephine, Freda, Ann, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Helen and James and cherished grandad of Mackenzie, Kai, Olivia-Sue, Alexis, Karmel and Kiera.
Joe was born in Cumbria and was very proud of his roots. He loved to tell stories of his time at Maryport Docks. Joe always liked to keep himself busy and especially enjoyed walking and collecting things. He loved watching horse racing and enjoyed visiting the bookies for a flutter on the horses. He also enjoyed socialising and having a drink with his friends and enjoyed family visits. Joe was a very proud grandad.

Janice Winifred Trickett
On 11th February 2017 peacefully at her home with her husband by her side and surrounded by her loving family Janice, aged 59 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted and much loved wife of Paul, treasured daughter of Hugh and Hannah, loving mum of Katie and Simon, dear mother-in-law of Laura and cherished nanny of Ethan, Lewis, Keira, Carlson, Jenson, Grace and Theo, dear sister of David and his wife Mari and also a much loved relative and dear friend.
Janice was a teacher all of her working life. She worked at Spring Hill Primary School for many years and retired early due to ill health in December 2015. She loved her work and was passionate about children and making sure that they got what they needed in life. Janice enjoyed taking holidays in France in their caravan and in later years enjoyed sun holidays for rest and relaxation. In her spare time, Janice was an avid reader and loved going to music concerts, to the theatre and to musicals. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved seeing all of her family.

Much loved family man
On 12th February 2017 Roger aged 88 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted husband of Hilda, much loved dad of Ian and Jean, dear father-in-law of Sharon and Michael, cherished grandad of Gavin, Carrie, Justin, Tammie, Kellie, Russell, Hollie, Cameron, Ewan, and great-grandad of Lily, Kyle, Willow, Mia, Alex, Isla, Jaden, Skyla and Noah.
Roger was a mechanic and maintainence fitter at Mullards for 25 years before he became a school caretaker. After his retirement, he became a lolly pop patrol man in Little Harwood.
Roger loved getting away and travelled the length and breadth of the UK in the touring caravan and motor home. In the early 60's and 70's he would spend every weekend with the children at the their static caravan at Warton and then Garstang, and he loved cycling the coast on his tandom bicycle together with his wife Hilda, to whom he was married for 64 years. Roger and Hilda met at Butlins club at the Jubilee Hall in Blackburn in 1949 and married in 1952. In their younger years, they were often seen out together on their motorbike with sidecar. In his spare time Roger enjoyed watching football and followed Blackburn Rovers. He was also an avid reader.
