Well-known former shopkeeper
Suddenly at his home on 9th January 2017, Barry aged 75 years of Accrington. The husband of Anne, devoted dad of Peter and Geoff, dear father-in-law of Louise and Jill, cherished grandad of Alfie, Stan and Tommy, uncle of Garry, Philip, Mark, Anthony, and the late Deborah, brother of Bill and the late Barbara.
Barry started his working life as a railway signalman, and later worked at Star Paper Mill, Manchester Corporation Works and as a motor mechanic of cars and HGV vehicles. Before his retirement, Barry ran his own business along with his wife Anne for 18 years at 'Our Anne's' general store on Annie St, Accrington and it was there that he became a well-known shopkeeper and familiar face. Barry enjoyed meeting up with his friends once a week and this social event became known as the Tuesday Club. He also enjoyed a game of snooker with his friends and singing with various choirs. Barry enjoyed the outdoors and walking with his beloved dog Tilly. Barry was an avid fan of vintage motobikes and loved his Royal Enfield. He also enjoyed travelling and driving in Europe by car.

The funeral service to celebrate Liz's life will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA followed by cremation. The service will be led by Civil Funeral Minister Lianna Champ.

Peacefully in hospital on 21st December 2016 Liz aged 85 years of Billington. The devoted wife of the late Ronald, much loved mum of Paul, Fred, Stephen and Tony, cherished step-mother of Marie, dear mother-in-law to Jenni, Tae, and Gabi, loving grandma of Sammie, Shannon, Jaymes, Henry, Meechia, Edward, Daniel and William, dear great-grandma and a much loved relative and friend.
Originally from Islington, North London, Liz moved to Manchester after meeting her late husband Ronald through work, and later moved to Billington where she lived for over 40 years. She was a former evacuee from Derbyshire along with her twin sister Peggy, with whom she always kept in touch. Before retiring, Liz had worked at Calderstones as a care worker. In her spare time, LIz enjoyed a game of darts and played for the Billington Brass Band Club team. She was a very sociable lady who loved to meet friends and family, and she even travelled to Australia to visit her brother. She adored her children, always enjoying have them around her and she was a very proud grandma. in later years she particualry enjoyed her holidays in Spain. Liz was also an avid sport follower and always kept up-to-date. In her younger years she did time trials to train the Olympians.

Peacefully at his home on 12th January 2017 Peter aged 81 years of Accrington and formerly of Burnley. The devoted and much loved husband of Ann, loving father of Paul and the late Mark, dear father-in-law of Wendy and a cherished grandad to Charlotte, Danica, Dominic and James, and great-grandad of Harley and Kyon.
Peter spent most of his working life at Lucas Aerospace, and also ran a grocers shop for a period of time with his wife Ann. In his spare time Peter enjoyed a game of snooker with his friends and he loved dancing. It was whilst ballroom dancing that Peter met his wife Ann and they later enjoyed sequence dancing together. Peter also enjoyed the great outdoors, in particular walking in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, and he enjoyed relaxing holidays both abroad and in the UK where he could enjoy a well deserved rest.
The family will aways be grateful to Dr Westwood and the District Nursing team for their love, care and support.
